In an interview with SameSame the American singer opened up on his fame “What’s nice is with a lot of the songs on this album, I’ve been able to make all these amazing statements, and I’ve had an amazing platform over the past six years, I really have, and I’ve gotten to do a lot of crazy things. I’ve gotten to be like bold about it and crazy and over the top about it.”

“And what’s so exciting now is I feel like all of that informs this music but it’s not as heavy-handed as it’s been in the past. It feels a bit, I don’t know, it feels like as an artist I’m kind of able to grow and reflect on where I am now.”
