Model of the moment Daisy Lowe led a legion of London’s most glamorous faces ashore last night for an exclusive party to celebrate the imminent arrival of “City Island by Ballymore” – a new island neighbourhood for London which will provide an important link between Canning Town and the City.
The highlight of the night was a stunning performance by Christmas No1 hopeful Tom Odell, who performed to guests including make-up artistMillie McIntosh, TV presenter Zara Martin, Singer Diana Vickers and MIC’s Kimberley Garner. Nik Thakkar took to the decks to get the party started and the party climaxed with beats courtesy of Le Bon Tong (Amber Le Bon and Becky Tong).

Guests were served Island inspired canapés and cocktails, including Orkney scallops on a cauliflower puree with Sevruga caviar, seafood ‘black pudding’ of lobster bisque-infused polenta cup coloured with squid ink and ‘Naked’ Wagyu Beef Burgers with Comté Cheese. Those with a sweet tooth were spoiled with salted caramel peanut butter lollypops plus delicious tastings from Cannon and Cannon, Meringue Girls and Ten Acre. Warm cocktails proved irresistible on a winter’s evening, including Mulled Sipsmith Sloe Gin with Apple, Plum and Cinnamon and Sipsmith sipping Vodka espresso martins.

Due for completion in 2016, “City Island by Ballymore” is set to become a ‘mini Manhattan’ and will be home to 1,700 new apartments, stunning al fresco spaces, vibrant new bars and restaurants, boutique shops and waterside parks. This unique new twelve acre island neighbourhood will become one of London’s most exciting and inspirational places to live, with an authentic and creative riverside community bursting with ideas and vitality, so it’s no wonder guests made themselves at home in the show apartments and didn’t want to leave!

John Mulryan, Managing Director UK, Ballymore Group, says; “Ballymore is a company that creates something more than just bricks and mortar. We make places, districts – even communities. We are really excited to be introducing this new island neighbourhood for London.”
